LOVE, CAROLINE
I am so excited that you are interested in choosing me to document your growing family! In August 2019, my husband and I welcomed a baby girl into the world and became parents. Since then, it's been a whirlwind of sleep schedules, feedings, diaper changes, and a whole lot of snuggles. I have witnessed firsthand how those early newborn days pass by in a blur. Even as a professional photographer myself, I didn't take enough photos in those early days. I was tired and trying to navigate becoming a new mom all while taking care of my high maintenance postpartum body. My camera sat on a shelf untouched.
Through my own experience, I have discovered I want to photograph families with one major goal in mind: to make it easy for my clients to get newborn photos they will treasure for years to come. I want to take the guesswork out of what to wear, prepping for your session and even displaying your photos. Keep reading to learn more.
GET TO KNOW THE PHOTOGRAPHER
I am a natural light photographer, drawn to light and airy images. I love neutrals and soft pastels, organic poses and styling, and simple, clean results.
During our session, you can expect a calm, gentle, relaxed approach. I will offer coaching and guidance, but I also hope to let the session unfold naturally and allow you and your family to be yourselves.
Through my photos, I hope to help you find beauty in the messy, imperfect parts of parenthood. I want to fill the walls in your home with priceless memories that you look back on and smile.
I am thrilled to now be able to offer a natural light studio for my clients in Lexington. If you don't want to worry about cleaning your home immediately after welcoming a new baby, or maybe just don't love the look or style of your current home, a studio session might be perfect for you! A studio session is the best way I can guarantee those light and airy, consistent results and you see on my website and Instagram. I understand a studio session might not be for everyone, so if you would prefer an at home session we can discuss more about how to prep your home for photos.
Wardrobe can have a huge affect on the final product of your images. I love guiding my clients to find the perfect outfits for themselves and their family. After you have officially reserved your session, I send along a guide to help your prep for your session, including what to expect, wardrobe tips, and more!
I will put together an extensive outfit suggestion guide with tips for every member of the family, I'm even happy to send specific links of favorites that I think might work for your session and overall look!
I know preparing for a session can be a lot of work and often stressful getting the whole family ready. Once we begin shooting, try to take a deep breath and let it all go. It's normal to feel awkward in front of the camera and not know what to do with your hands. Trust me your baby isn't the first newborn who has cried throughout their session and your toddler certainly is acting like every other toddler I've photographed (including my own hehe). I will coach you through each pose/image and I'm well versed in capturing even the busiest of little ones, with a few tricks up my sleeve.
All images from our sessions are typically delivered within two to three weeks of the shoot date via an online gallery. This gallery will allow you to share your favorites with family, order prints and even download images to share on social media. You also have the option to add on an album to your collection.
Your gallery will remain active for one year. Please be sure to back up your photos on your own to the Cloud!
I am proud to offer my clients a variety of ways to turn their images into keepsakes. Wall galleries, framed prints, canvases decorate your home, beautiful handmade albums and more.
Since becoming a mom, I have been able to witness the beauty of printed photos all over again through the eyes of my little one. My daughter loves flipping the pages of our wedding album and her baby books. Because of this, I love when clients can get their photos off their screens and onto their walls and in their home in tangible ways.

I typically photograph newborn sessions on weekday mid mornings ~10:30/11 am, about 10-14 days after baby's arrival. Since baby's are unpredictable, we wait to schedule your session until baby arrives, I just ask that you try to reach out within 24-48 hours of their birth so we can get something on the calendar as soon as possible.
The 10-14 day window is ideal for photos as the baby is generally still very sleepy, but before acne and skin peeling peaks at 2-3 weeks. That being said, I know from experience this window can be a quick turnaround and any time within the first month is great!
I recommend scheduling your maternity session for when you are between 28-35 weeks. This way you have a sizable bump but we aren't getting too close to your due date! I photograph maternity sessions on weekday evenings (M-Th) about 1-2 hours before sunset and within a 15 mile radius of zip code 02474. I have many location recommendations within that range, including open fields, estates, city scapes, gardens, and more.
You are welcome to bring any props with you that you'd like and really make this session into your own. Many families bring sonogram photos, onesies, or baby shoes.
Fantastic! To reserve your session date, please send me your due date and preferred session locations, as well as a $150 non-refundable deposit sent via Venmo or Zelle. The remaining balance is due at the time of your session.
Yes, absolutely! Every session includes the digital download of your high resolution images from a password protected online gallery. I love seeing my images used as profile pictures and posted on Instagram. My main goal, though, is to have you print your photos. I'm happy to help with album design and ordering, as well as, framed prints.
I will often post my favorite 10-15 images from a session to my blog and Instagram for marketing purposes. It's really important for me to be able to share my work in order to grow my business. No last names or location specifics will be included.
I'm so honored that you're considering working with us to capture your family. To officially reserve your date, please send an email to carolinewinnphotography@gmail.com
I CAN'T WAIT TO WORK TOGETHER!
